We often wonder what qualities will give our children the best shot at a happy, fulfilling life. Intelligence? Talent? Wealth? According to Nobel Prize-winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman, one trait stands above the rest.

Insight of the Day: Optimism isn’t just about feeling good — it’s what drives real change.

Psychologist Daniel Kahneman says:

“If you are allowed one wish for your child, seriously consider wishing him or her optimism. Optimists are normally cheerful and happy, and therefore popular; they are resilient in adapting to failures and hardships, their chances of clinical depression are reduced, their immune system is stronger, they take better care of their health, they feel healthier than others and are in fact likely to live longer… the people who have the greatest influence on the lives of others are likely to be optimistic and overconfident, and to take more risks than they realize.”

Optimism isn’t just about seeing the bright side; it’s about living a more resilient, impactful life. Encouraging an optimistic mindset can help us, and those we care about, face challenges boldly and make a meaningful difference.
